I also consult with the Cornerstone Safety Group and Armstrong Adventure Consulting.  I have worked globally in outdoor education, operations and risk management since 1991.  Most recently I was the Head of Operations at Outward Bound Hong Kong where I also co-led the team to develop the first Outward Bound School in China, Outward Bound Hubei, which I still serve as a member of the Risk Management Committee.  Prior to the National Audubon Society, I worked with Outward Bound International as their Risk Management Consultant and the American Red Cross as a Disaster Program Manager.

I live in Asheville, NC and love to travel, climb, watch birds, and I LOVE all things maps and navigation.
