Nate Ostis
Nate has worked in the commercial river industry for 31 continuous years as a guide, instructor, and rescue specialist. He has been a field instructor for NOLS for the last 23 years primarily in the river program and wilderness medicine. He is an ACA Level 5 Instructor Trainer and serves on the international rescue committees for both ACA and ITRA. He authored the award winning NOLS River Rescue Field Guide and the NOLS River Educator Notebook. He is a firefighter EMT and also serves as an officer and training coordinator for his local Search and Rescue team in Idaho. An avid kayaker and rafter, Nate finds himself on the river at least 150 days every year.
