About me
Alex has earned B.S. degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Outdoor Education, her M.S. in Recreation Studies, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Higher Education at Ohio University. She has worked in the outdoor industry as an educator and instructor for the last decade in the Pacific Northwest, California, Alaska, and Hawaii. Additionally Alex has taught courses in outdoor education, natural and historic interpretation, environmental education, museum design and education, as well as global and international studies. Her doctoral research focuses on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in outdoor education. Other research areas include experiential education, risk management, skill retention, and resiliency in guides/educators.
